Get answers to common questions about Emsella Kegels.
Emsella Kegels uses focused electromagnetic pulses to trigger deep pelvic floor muscle contractions while you remain fully clothed and seated. These repetitive contractions strengthen muscles over multiple sessions, improving bladder control, core support, and intimate wellness without invasive procedures.
Ideal candidates include adults experiencing stress or urgency urinary leakage, postpartum pelvic weakness, or diminished pelvic tone. A consultation determines suitability; contraindications include pregnancy, certain implanted electronic devices, or active pelvic infections.
We generally recommend a series of sessions—often six treatments scheduled twice weekly—followed by periodic maintenance as needed. Individual response varies; many clients notice improvements after several sessions, with best results achieved through the full recommended course.
Most clients report a tingling sensation and rhythmic pelvic muscle contractions during treatment; it is generally comfortable and non-painful. Intensity can be adjusted for comfort. If you experience pain, our clinicians stop or modify the session immediately.
Side effects are typically minimal and short-lived—mild pelvic soreness, temporary urinary urgency or muscle fatigue are possible. There is no significant downtime; you can resume normal activities right away unless otherwise directed by your clinician.
Wear comfortable clothing and empty your bladder before treatment. No special skin prep is required. Afterward, stay hydrated, avoid intense pelvic strain for 24–48 hours, and follow any home-exercise or follow-up recommendations provided by your clinician.
