Most people report mild discomfort like a snapping or warming sensation. Cutera Xeo cooling and tailored 1064 Yag settings minimize pain; topical anesthetic can be used if needed and sensations are typically brief.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning and self-tanning products for two weeks before treatment. Shave the under arm area 24 hours prior; do not wax or pluck. Inform us about medications, recent procedures or skin conditions.
You may notice hair shedding within two to three weeks after a session. Meaningful reduction accumulates across treatments; many clients see significant improvement after three to five sessions, with best results by session eight.
Temporary redness, swelling or mild sensitivity are common and usually resolve within days. Blistering, pigment changes or scarring are rare when treatments are performed by trained providers using appropriate 1064 Yag settings and cooling.
The 1064 Yag wavelength is safer for darker skin because it penetrates deeply with lower epidermal absorption. An experienced technician will adjust parameters and may perform a patch test to minimize risk.
